Wordle.net is a very popular website which allows you to create beautiful ‘word clouds’ easily! Here is an example of a Wordle made from words you might recognize. Do you know who wrote this speech?

- copy and paste all of your students’ first names into Wordle to create a cloud of their names - post it on your door!
- create a Wordle using the names of the countries where your students were born
- create a Wordle using the text of a favorite poem - deduce the poem or author
- create a Wordle using a paragraph of text about an animal, a math or science concept (ie. fractions, gravity) - then deduce/infer the subject/topic

- create a Wordle using key words from a book or text they’ve read
- create a Wordle using any piece of text - this is a great way to visualize for main idea and summaries - have a partner try to deduce /infer the topic
- create a Wordle to use as a title page for a research project, using text from your research
