Create your own Marvel Superhero!
Your students will LOVE creating their own Marvel Superhero at this website! The instructions are pretty straight-forward and student-friendly. In fact, I wouldn't do too much teaching, but rather encourage the kids to play and explore! I think you'll find that your students will discover all the possibilities of how to create and edit their superheroes and then teach each other!

How to use Marvel Superheroes:
- create a 'Random Act of Kindness' hero
- create a 'Save the Environment' hero
- create a 'Safety' hero
- you get the idea :)
How to Save:
- be sure to give the hero a name - you'll be reminded of this if you forget
- the best option for saving is to choose 'Download'. The images will be saved to a location of your choice ie. desktop. I would discourage the 'Print' option as these images will use a lot of colour (if you're lucky enough to have a colour printer) and not be too satisfying in black and white. It's much preferred to encourage the digital images to be used in a digital way somehow. (see below)
- if you open the downloaded image, you'll see that it opens in a Marvel Superheroes window - if you want to select just the image to paste somewhere else - use the keyboard shortcut SHIFT > CONTROL > COMMAND > 4 - this turns your cursor into a select tool - select the part of the image you wish to copy - then paste it whereever you'd like (see below)
What to do with the Superheroes:
- put the image into Comic Life and add captions and speech bubbles to tell more about the hero
- paste the image into Pages and make a fancy title, or write a sentence or paragraph about the hero
- every Superhero has a soundtrack - why not create one in GarageBand?
- put some or all of the heroes on your classroom website, blog or wiki
- etc.
